Explore drawing outdoors with Miss Chelsea Morel in this series of workshops where students will get to study nature, improve their drawing skills, and have fun. Each class will introduce a new art technique, journaling style, a short walk for botanical and wildlife observations, and a visit to the parks long-time animal residents.

"My ten year old son had his first art class two weeks ago with Paula. He was guided to use his creativity and was also shown different techniques. We have tried other art classes in the area and none made him feel like it was fun. She didn't stand over his shoulder to make him uncomfortable like I had observed at the other places. My son was extremely satisfied with his experience and was excited to come back. Paula has a different approach to teaching her students that I noticed immediately. She has a way of encouraging her students that promotes creativity and confidence."
"My two kids have been attending classes with Picasso's Playmates for the past year. They are so excited to see Miss Paula each week. Their progress is clearly evident from their pastel portfolios. They each entered two art pieces in the community art show and were thrilled to both receive prizes! Paula is consistently patient, kind, humorous, creative, and a wonderful instructor. I highly recommend Picasso's Playmates for every budding artist!"
"As the mom of three, I've tried tons of extracurricular activities. Picasso's Playmates is my favorite because the quality of teaching is excellent. Paula, the owner has been loving and helpful to all my children. She's the sort of teacher you wish they had in high school. She helps without doing. She doesn't try to make cookie cutter artists but trains them in foundational art techniques and then allows personal creativity. The other bonus is that the price is very reasonable!"
“It’s not art class, it’s life class, but you get to paint.” I can’t think of a better description for taking art class with Paula. I’ve been taking art classes with her since I was seven and no matter what problem I was having that week, Paula was always there for me to provides wisdom and if need some tough love. Her approach to teaching art has also taught me many skills that have helped not just in life but in school as well. Paula emphasizes problem solving skills, independent thinking, and diligence in art. For me, Paula went a step further and taught me listening and communicating skills, which I struggled so much with."
We believe that art lessons are an investment in the future and should be a good fit. Make an appointment to come in and try a fine art class on us.
You'll be glad you came!
Q: What do we need to bring?
A: In the beginning just bring yourself and a desire to learn and have fun
Q: How does your program work?
A: We use a step by step process to drawing and painting ensuring every person can learn to draw and paint. We focus on progress not perfection so our students learn through the process of art, not just the product.
Q: Why is art important?
A: We believe art is the cornerstone of civilization, with out it we wouldn't have the lives we lead today and without it in our future, no innovations could be truly represented.
